Live in Northwestern Pennsylvania Looking to cash in circuit boards.

I clean estates out and have been told by a friend to rip out all circuit boards from old electronics. I have been doing this for a while now and have quite a few stockpiled now, but unsure where to go. Local metal plants pay very little for them and it takes a while to rip these apart for a couple bucks. Does anyone know of a place around Lake Erie to cash these in for decent pay? I thought of Ebay and mailing to some of the online sellers, but the shipping on the lot I have would be very high. Any place in the tri state area I could drive to?

Check out the buyers thread, there's quite a few board buyers in the tri-state area, it mostly depends on what you have and what driving distance is reasonable for you.

I appreciate the help. We have a business that is buying computers and electronics and pays 20 to 30 cents a pound for everything. When I asked them what they did with the stuff, they told me they sent it to a recycler, but would not tell me who. The junk yards pay along their level and are more interested in heavy scrap. I have been looking around this site and can't seem to pinpoint anyone close. I must not be searching right. I would be willing to drive about an hour or so away, maybe Buffalo or Cleveland or Pittsburgh because I have a minivan without seats full of circuit boards I have been saving. It would be worth the trip to find somebody that was fair.

I just contacted them via email. They are about an hour and a half away. Hopefully they get back to me with a number and I can deliver this load. Mailing would be a pain. I have more estates coming up and a possible building with a ton of old computers in it, so this could work. Thanks for your help. By the way, what about old electronics like stereo equipment and stuff from the 70's. Are they worth ripping apart?

I would definitely look at resale instead of scrapping for the older ones, even if they don't work they should be worth alot more
