Some of my loading needs critiqued, but here's how I found the best way to haul an Allis pulltype combine on a 16ft car trailer with minimum torching. I did cut the tongue off this one to get it away from a tree. Weight was around 1.5 ton.
It was too heavy to lift and load so I lifted / pushed into it with my skidsteer from the trailer side and backed under it; then just finish shoving it on from the back. An old car hood laid on the trailer keeps sharp ends from gouging. I find I can lift heavier objects by getting as close to the trailer as possible and pushing them backward and upward rather than merely from the side.
Working alone alot, the bad part is getting out of the skidsteer to back the trailer under the load. It has no safety locks on the loader. Fingers crossed.
