Thanks for posting that price list, reminded me to buy sodas for the crew at my scrap yard. When I saw those copper and brass prices, I had to go check the spot market. Thought maybe I missed something, not so actually prices up a little. That place should be on rip-off alert status and you should avoid them period. I'm sure you could do better in any category of scrap. I agree with 56 you should always have at least two yards your selling to. Then track the prices you receive on a spread sheet. Wasn't long after I started doing that, I noticed even good yards pay different. One might do more volume with aluminum, so they can pay better. Another yard might be more efficient handling copper, paying more for that. You want a yard that knows the "market" the yard you referenced is low on everything. I think that is the first time I have seen that on this site. Usually when a member here post prices, they are in the same "ballpark", some higher and some lower. As almost everyone so far has said their prices are low, makes me think there's problem's with that yard!
