the issue will be do you know if ti works or not....get part numbers (hopefully on them) and do an EBAY search 1st....see if they are on there or selling....if you KNOW they work, then you are good...otherwise see if the part is selling on there "for parts" (ie no way to know if they are working or for someone who refurbishes them)....you might be surprised what items will sell for even as "part/not working"....I sell TONS of laptops and cell phones that way for WAY WAY more than scrap.
Good luck!
PROFIT is made when you BUY/ACQUIRE NOT when you sell
The photo you posted is showing a "Nord" brand gearbox. I worked with those gearboxes in my 9-5 for years. It looks like it is new. Can you post a photo of the nameplate and the other sides of the gearbox?
You will be able to tell if they are sick by turning the shafts and see if they turn smoothly. Oil leaks are also an indicator of use and/or damage.
You should be able to get a decent buck for them--maybe a couple hundred each if you are in a very populated area.
Jon.
eBay might not be the best place for these. When I get something like this from a demolition job, I go to a local company that supplies bearings to many businesses. Check with your industrial bearing stores, you might find one that deals with used/new parts. The ones I had brought in more than they go for on eBay.
Yup, It's a gear reducer/drive. Definitely more than scrap value with those especially new. good find!
