What I got from it was the schools officals just saw the free money and like other educators see computers as the end all of educating. I have often stated my father got a better education in the 1920's and 30's. I wish the folks in charge of education would see its not the tools its the commitment to teaching. We have all seen children in other countries being taught in rooms without electricity let alone computers. Some of these same children grow up to compete with us sucessfully.
The news tells us that we continue sliding down the list of the top educated of countries of the world. Often you don't hear we in the U.S. spend far more than other countries on education. At the same time we are admonished for not spending enough. This is just a big example of wasted money.
The possible positive note was that a couple of schools seemed to been able to add computers and show improvment. I'm not against the computers just not the proper planing.
Lastly, we will continue to have scrap available from the various government entities so that's good news for us. Mike
