Or...you could provide us with a bit more info other then.."It's a brother sewing machine. It doesn't work, no cord."
You do know a lot of sewing machines are collectible correct? You do know there are a lot of sewers out there who'd gladly pay for a broken machine, cause they likely have parts, or or need them? You do know pictures help with questions like this. Or..a model name/#, etc.
You do know...it's your to do with as you choose, but it's up to you to give us all the info you have available upto an including pictures of said item if you want better answers then.."If it was free scrap it."
You do know as much as I dislike
eBay there are other ways to move items that don't involve *gasp* eBay, or even selling it online for that matter?
Go visit some sewing shops, or places they gather, or drop it on CL. Somewhere right now is a sewer looking for a machine cheap, or for parts, or to just collect.
An yes, being married to one who sews quite a bit..I do know better then to just scrap a sewing machine.
The more you know...
Edit: Ebay is far from the only place to get a value. For the love of all that is holy people, check into market research programs, such as Terapeak and many others out there. Bloody hell here I am repeating myself again...an expecting different results. No wonder I don't deny the crazy label. :P
An no this edit isn't just cause I don't like eBay, it's to give you all more options. You know the saying...don't put all your eggs in one basket. I know nothing tho. Just a silly scrapper.
Edit 2 = I mean to add this before..doh! Good luck an let us know the results of what you end up doing. An those things sell easily for a 150 bucks brand new depending on the machine. An if you ever scrap an old one don't tell me. Old sewing machines = big money if you take time to sell it.
