If you can't get any yards to buy it, ship it to someone on the forum. Don't throw it away though!

What the story with some power cables is similar to what you have with railroad scrap.
The story is....
Only the power company buys certain sorts of cable. They own all of the cable.
If someone turns up at a scrapyard with this certain cable, well that someone does not own it, therefor they have in their possession stolen property....
I have seen people turned away. I asked scale dude and he said it was utility wire and could not buy. No idea if it compares to what you had though.
Google first ask questions later!
Guess that would make sense if it was the cable or elec. comps wire. When I found it I thought man, jackpot. Then all this happened lol
Gonna post a pic in the morning so you guys can check it out. Quite a nice pile
How do I load pics on here?
What gauge is this wire? Is it huge industrial or like 220
Here's a pic if it worked. A bunch of it was bolted to the rectangle piece. It's copper too
I live in iowa and never had this problem as yards here now have a copy of your license on file and not all but most have cameras to identify you as well so to help protect for theft from the yard and to sell to the yard stolen goods
here in SA, yards also dont buy certain types of wires
esp those that look as if they come from the railways or the national Telecomms company
also, household wire-not all types but there is one type they dont buy
ive had to throw this away whenever i got it
its disappointing but this is the price we honest scrappers pay due to the high theft rate.
True! They just charged a guy a few cities away from me with stealing over 1million dollars worth. Hoping I can just sell it to somebody to be reused or whatnot. I'm gonna end up with some pretty thick copper speaker wire if not! Lol
