    This made me wonder exactly how much weight just breaking off the connector and pulling the easy motor would yield.

    You'll need 40 drives to get a pound of motors.



    You'll need 90 drives to get a pound of connectors.

    If it takes 15 seconds to deal with each drive on average counting any other time associated with this, with 90 drives you will spend 22.5 minutes. The yield will be a bit over 2 lbs of motors, and one pound of connectors. So, say about 50 cents of motors, and 25 to 50 cents for the connectors if you count shipping cost to get that money.

    Nice busy work though. Not hard to do.

    Edit - Also forgot to add in that you have to subtract what you would get for shred. So take away 3 lbs of shred for those 90 drives.
