Quick question

Was curious if anybody coukd tell me what metal the silver connectors on the ends of cable wires are? Googled and searched the site but didn't find anything. Thanks

That's what I was thinking they'd be...Gonna dig out the file now.

I was expecting to turn them into my yard as dirty brass. They told me they would take them as CBM at .05 per pound so I don't collect them anymore.

Brass?? I always though most of them were Stainless?

That seems crazy. They aren't even close to being motors lol. Guess it doesn't surprise me though. My yard gave me steel price for flyback transformers last week lol

If you have time, punch out the center coax and then they'll go as regular brass.

Doing this right now. Already had most out but now that I know that makes a difference everyone of them is coming out lol

This is so true! Get to the point were you take certain material to certain yards. I got a pick of 10 different yards. Iam lucky, I know some don't have this option.

Depending on the yard here could go as
shred $.055 lb.
Copper Content $.12 lb
Dirty brass $.60 lb
And 19 scrap yards here between 5 and 18 miles away! Closer ones don't pay as well LOL!

Main one I go to is less than 2 minutes away from my house so it's convenient but I've been wanting to try out the other 2 here

I recently found out (the hard way) it helps to deal with the same individuals at a yard sometimes. Took some power supplies in awhile back and got about $.15/lb. New / different guy last trip got shred price. I didn't put up much of an argument because I knew this trip wouldn't be $.15, I needed to make some room, and the other yard only pays shred, but I was hoping for better than shred. Point being, whenever you're talking grade / classification, sometimes it's not only the particular yard itself, it's different folks at the yard.
