Yes , you have a winner
Buying ewaste and video games !
Yes I agree, SMD's first one made by KEMET and third by Vishay-Sprague, not familiar with the second one (yet). Takes a lot of those puppies to make a pound, but at $18 to $24 a pound could by worth it!
Agreed, it would be nice to have a few buyers weigh in on if it devalues a board or not. Been having the same discussion with a few members on this topic. If the buyer is getting paid on Ta by the refiner then I understand them not wanting them removed. But if the refiner does not pay on Ta then it shouldn't be an issue. Unless of course the buyer is removing and selling them.
Then the discussion becomes how much more is a board worth to a buyer who is recovering Ta?

Brass - Been wondering the same thing, contemplating doing it anyway. Thinking on taking at least the axial types (Ag/Ta, wet, hermetic's) for sure and most of the resin/epoxy types. As these are easy to do and can be done with little impact to board, with very little weight reduction to boards. Not sure the SMD's are worth the effort though!
I just recently started removing all I can get my hands on. Burt clear your in box its full.
Same for me & thanks for telling me about in box, it's cleared. Sometimes it's the little details, that bite you in the a$$!
Bump....can any buyers weigh in on if removing Ta caps devalues a board?
