Advice on how to proceed. Microwave

Picking up 40 late model microwaves tomorrow. Store returns all labeled non working. Actually paying a little bit for them. After reading another thread I was surprised to see what some of the parts bring on eBay. Guilty of throwing a lot of money in the scrap bin. I'm tempted to just do a quick test and part them all out cataloging model and serial then listing on eBay. Option -#2 is going deeper and repairing. But you still have a used microwave. Just seems quicker to part what's good and scrap what's left. What say ye?
Just a note to say although I thought I was pretty good at scrapping my eyes have been opened to so many small things I have been missing. Many thanks

Some people have good luck selling used parts on Fleabay but they do a lot of research to see what's selling and what's not.
Someone once mentioned on here that 2/3rds of the fixes are the relays/contacts for the door. It gets burnt and won't make contact to start the micro. He would just keep all the relays from the junkers and that way he had replacements for the next fix.
Might also check down below for similar threads about microwaves. Also try the advanced search feature.
** The contacts get burnt by continually opening the door while the wave is still running, instead of stopping first.

If you have one not powering up after punching in the time, it would take longer to pull the screws than to swap contacts out.

Check all returned items to see if they operate. People return items due to regret nearly as often as for reasons of the items not working. I used to sell used microwaves at flea markets all the time.

If they don't work then do the research on parts sales on eBay.

There are numerous threads on microwave recycling. Mike

I would scrap as light now but Im starving for work...... and broke.....

but if you had time and could sit on them with out putting out money (you got for free and shop is free) then Miked is right on test and sell on cl or ebay or friends.. Or give away to people who need. Whats it worth in scrap .40 to .80 cents. Give one to a retirment home or someone in need and sell the rest.

Good lord will repay you for that deed. Plus it feels good to actually be nice in this world. I love just doing the total opposite of how I use to live now.

    Your blessed you got them.
