Washing Machine drums as fire pits

A furniture shop I frequently sell to had asked me to sell them a drum from a washing machine. This was a few weeks ago. I told them as soon as one tested bad I would get it to them. I have seen people in this shop since then and I asked why they wanted a drum. They told me they want to use it for a fire pit. Genius!

I took a washing machine apart yesterday, got the drum cleaned of plastic and such, an viola, a perfect fire pit. So now when scrapping a washing machine, maybe a dryer (I haven't looked at that drum for this use), you can sell the drum as better than scrap. I'm gonna sell the drum to them for $10 because I like them. These fire pits (drums) could possibly fetch $25+.

I use them for burn barrels. That way I do not have to pay for 55 gal drums.

So I dropped off the washing drum to the antique shop and sold for ten bucks. It was stainless steel, it was beautiful, so I was a little reluctant. Anyway, she took it home, lit a fire in it, took a picture, and posted it on her shops' website. It created quite a buzz to say the least. Well now she told me she will buy as many as I can get, and will buy them for $15 to $20 each. So with scrap prices so low, it's time to take scrap in a new direction.

I sink them into the ground and use them as barriers whenever I want to plant an invasive plant like trumpet vine or wisteria. I think it might even work for bamboo but I'm not gonna chance it.
