Keep some tools in your truck...

Well I guess Ill talk about what happened first... more like my stupisity but whatever... So me and my dad go out on trah night, buisiness as usuall so to give you an idea he has an '87 chevy pickup 3 speed that the first owner took off the columb and onto the floor. so it shift as R then down ist 1 then up half way and hard right and slam it home forward into 2 then rip it backwards and hopefully it will get into 3. So every now and again it loosens up and so it got stuck in second gear. We were doing fairly well too as in a quarter of a truck full of stuff and it was only 6:45. so we were able to motor home in second gear and then it was getting dark and we just wasted too much time getting it home. So I guess a sorta greenhorn mistake on my end but weve been scrapping for about a half year and done well so far but just a reminder to keep a tool set in your trucks, i threw in a SAE and metric socket set and a 3/8-1/4in adapter allong with a wrench set and a few other goodies.

I did i used loctite and a locknut along with a nut with nylon on it.

Okay yea i did. My dad was an auto mechanic for 10 years prfessionally and for about5-6 years in his family garage as a kid before he went back to school to become an engineer. So before you decide to be smart with me maybe you should think about who I have teaching me to work on cars and trucks buddy.

And also yeaa I am starting to put money aside for my own set of tools so that going to be a complee set in the truck when i get my hands on it but for now we got some stuff in there, just my fault for not thinking to put some tools int a 25 year old truck lol

I found it amusing that he thinks you didn't use loctite and a lock nut.

Well is that sarcasm or not? and a lock nut is fairly common my dad is kinda old school so he always uses them i got the loctite on there.
