hate mail in response to craigslist

The other day i received hate mail in response to my ac recycling ad. I was stunned. It said the guy would charge me two dollars just show up at his place and that he was sick of my ad and that i was an ahole. I almost feel like i was targeted by a terrorist. It seems to me that the only person who could rationalise that behavior is the lunatic authoring such responses.
Anyone else working craigslist received such hate mail?

When I posted ads to try and sell cars or cars to be parted out I ALWAYS got a response from the same douche that would say "SCRAP THAT POS"
On the second one I posted.. Same Response.. to which I replied "Thank you for your interest.. but I sold the car yesterday for $800" Never heard from that guy again!

When I started posting ads to buy computer parts I get an email from the same guy over and over that just says "LOSER"

It is people out there hoping you will feel bad about yourself and stop posting.. they most likely do what you are doing and are trying to get their competition to stop so they can get more of the pie. Don't take it personally and try to Ignore it and keep doing what you do. Haters gonna hate!
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!

I'll do you one better. For however long it lasts, this was posted by a competitor who was trying to get an upper hand in obtaining computers. Some of the language is NSFW.

    DONT TRUST recyclingwithbilly.com

All I could really do was post a rebuttal.

    Re: DONT TRUST recyclingwithbilly.com

By the way, I'm 99% sure who pulled that stunt.

I have heard that others have had some success with sending complaints to craigslist.

Craigslist seems to be full of this type who report ads to get them removed. There has been lots written in the old threads about problems dealing with craigslist perhaps you can find some assistance there. 73 Mike

I've had my legit ads on craigslist flagged, and was banned once. I had to contact craigslist, and get them to lift the ban. It was an automated one, and once I showed I was legit, I was reinstated.

Last Friday I was giving away about 50# of steel for free, and I even had one guy write me and ***** that it was only worth a dollar, and not worth his gas to drive out.

I told him that if he didn't want it, he didn't have to drive out that far to take it, thanked him for getting under my skin for the day, and reminded him to not be an ungrateful **** when someone is giving something away for free.

Some people are just raging asshats, and they are clueless that they are the ones with the issues.

Don't let it get you down.

I know that many of the ads that the appliance shop I work for have been flagged and deleted. They've struggled a lot to get it under control. I've had a few of my ads flagged as well.

I’ve seen your ads. They make me sick! haha I’m just kidding. Your ads are fine. I don’t recall getting any grief over scrap ads, but every once in awhile someone will boo hoo about something I have for sale. A few recent ads. One was for a pile of lumber. Guy messaged and asked why would he pay my asking price when he could go buy it new?

Okay? If that's how you feel, go buy the new lumber and leave me alone? I asked if he was a bored troll with too much time on his hands? Would he feel better about himself if I lower the price? He said he was a retired bored troll. Ahh. Okay.

Ended up selling the lumber for close to asking, so whatever.

Another emailed me an offer for a trailer I had listed for $7,000. Guy had the stones to offer 900 bucks “because that’s all it was worth”.

Told him to troll somewhere else. “okay, but we have to start the negotiations somewhere”. Right. Then I get a call, and I suspect it was from the same person, offering $1,500. I passed. Sold it a short time later to someone that actually had a clue for $5,700.

People are idiots with an abundance of time on their hands. All you can do is move on and hope the next person isn’t a complete moron.
