Pressurised cans

So I've almost collected all the scrap I'm going to be taking in and have come up with a few cans I assume are pressurised.
Still cant seem to get pics uploading so a link will do for now :

How can I go about safetly depressurising these before flattening etc? What I have found online is less than ideal.
Also, would your local yard accept them as is? or do they like to see a hole at least? I know for example fire extinguishers must be cut in two...

Are they worth the effort,.

I love the local yard they buy fire ex full that I cant sell cause there rusty and stuff now other things like tanks and stuff have to be punctured though

Dose it work good for very long? We have a bundle that has pile up over the last 10 to 15 years . Like a couple thousand and no I am not kidding. Or is their a better tool to use? We do not take them . But we find them hide in other things.

Where can I find one ? I might buy one and see if I can make something heavier duty That will hold up .

I do not go to Walmart unless there is no other choice also .

I have just been using a typical Peirce type can opener on the bottom edge of the can, peircing the side of the can.


I have a funny story about when I was a little kid and my older cousin by a few years decided to put a hole in the side of a aerosol can of red paint "because its not working and I want to get the paint out and use it".

For me it's all about proper disposal. I fear we are a crap country it comes to waste (didn't used to be the case). I'm by no means a big time scrapper and most of what I've collected has been through cleaning up the local area (may not be min. wage but this deprived part of the city has never looked better!).
I'm definitely more into scrapping for the big picture than the big money and as a newbie I want to try to take every step to ensure items are disposed of as safely and ... I dunno... renewably? as possible...

Certainly like the idea of a .22 pellet gun. Fun and (with proper precautions) safe!
Pretty sure UK makes it harder to obtain and use a .22 than they do in America so may not be a quick fix.
Crunchit looks cool. The issue I have with these camping stoves is the state i've found them in it's pretty much impossible to release any left over gas due to damage / rust/ whatever. Aerosol cans (deoderant, room sprays etc) it's not such an issue, so i can release gas and pierce / crunch etc.


Off to do some research on the .22 for sure. I know them use them in the cadets (under 18 army) so they are certainly not unheard of.

I do have quite a for more piled up and scattered around. Combined with the other stuff I've gathered I'm most likely still not at a full load.
