Post Getting more scrap, without begging.

Hey gang, been quite some time since I've posted on here!!

But I'm an amateur photographer looking to to expand my skills and hopefully make some side money off of this hobby, so I got this photographers market book, blah blah blah and stumbled upon an article in it. The article was about finding prospects, and using writing them a letter and using USPS's Priority mail.
    Heres how you do it
You can get these for free by either visiting your post office, or ordering them online. The total amount of prospects you want to send them too is all up to you, just a heads up its approx $5.60 a letter to mail at the time of me posting this (5/3/2016). Consider it as an investment rather than an expense.

I would flip through the yellow pages and select any amount of companies that you can mention in the letter or know someone who works there, and write a good quality letter that is too the point and concentrate on what makes you stick out.

In the book it says keep the length of it short, about 2/3rds of a page. Then all you do when your done is purchase the postage online through the post offices website or going to your local post office. Priority mail typically takes 2-3 days to get somewhere, but if the place your sending it too is close by, which presumably it is, it most likely will get there within the next business day. But I would wait maybe another day after that just to be safe to call them asking if they have received their express shipment. Just remember nobody throws away an important looking document.

I have not tried this yet, but it really seems like it would work if you put together a quality letter and spent sometime looking through the yellowpages, and looking on google, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if anyone who would try this got at least one person to give over a lot of scrap, that might end paying for mailing out 25 letters.

If you do decide to give it a shot, let me know how it goes! Hope all the best for you!

I would think that would be too costly for this business. It's a great idea for a business that is making high dollar sales, or even if it could land you a client with thousands of dollars worth of scrap ... Maybe it would work. But you may have to send out a hundred before you get a solid lead and that would cost you $560 dollars.

On the USPS website, you can get them to print and ship postcards that only cost about twenty cents a piece. Probably won't get noticed as well unless you are really creative with the marketing on it.
