Exclamation Used Lego Is Ungodly Expensive !

I was looking on Ebay for some Lego bricks, and quickly abandoned the idea of buying any after seeing the price for used bricks.
Random bricks start at $12 /lb and go up from there. The large bulk lots are a bit cheaper, but not by much !

Many of these include free shipping. How many pounds fit in a large flat rate box? Probably not too many. There goes $18. And if they use any other form of shipping, we have to remember that you live in Clearfield County, where shipping costs are outragous. They may even lose money on the deal.

A couple years ago I was always looking for them at yard sales. You don't find them often, or if you do they're expensive. Never was able to obtain enough to make resale worthwhile beyond a few small lots. And the people are pricey too. Especially the Star Wars themed characters.
Copper, brass, and Leather. 3 of my favorite things.

I'm a lego and lionel train collector, pickings are super slim these days, people don't understand that the sets and pieces from the 90s are waaaaaaaay more valuable to the lego collector. Lionel I like the 1940s, 50s because the post war stuff for kids was awesome and the quality was unparalleled.

Here in Mesa Az the Goodwill thrift stores always have Legos by the bag full. But they price them high. But sell them all.

I hope I am not breaking forum rules referring these guys, who do buy bricks by the pound, among other things. I have used them for small electronics, in the past, but this would be a new venture.

I've made a few $100 selling lego and the sets at the auction house I work at. Get them from yard sale / flea market / storage units. Never did try those on ebay. Found another box of random pieces. May have to give it a try at those rates.
