    Business cut right off!!!!

need some advice on how to pick my business back up, to start the story i had all my picking ground taken over by someone who leeched there way into the family circle and i helped him out cause i did not like to see my mother 3 months behind in rent. So i invited him to help me and i would split the profit in half after gas was covered, my truck broke down cause the transmission went and it was down for about couple weeks and then all hell broke loss and he started raiding my area. he has borrowed trailers and vehicles and damaged them and i have been blamed. how do i go about getting my area back. he has people that will work for pot and gas or $50 a day

I just sent a PM to a nother poster covering this very thing sadly the way of doing business in this country has changed over the years perticularly the last few, as sadly, has our whole country. we are no longer, it seems , a country of morals and ethics, but a country of im going to get mine, and yours, if i can. thisis summed up on a T shirt I saw a 20 something girl wearing the other day. it reas " I got mine F**K yours.

It seems that loyalty and integrity no longer have value or respect in this country or the world for that matter.

There may be nothing you can do about what you have already lost but in the future, you may be able to create a little loyalty with a constant smile a warm handshake and box of donuts or home baked cookies now and then. worked for me. but I have still been flat screwed out of thousands over the last few years by thise with no moral code sadly that is just business in America today.

it is pretty sketchy 2 that the yard pays him $210/ton and i get $150.another sad thing is the yard encourages people to steal for them 2 they just say they will crush it right away when it is brought in. even i see them rip tanks out of vehicles right on the yard and gas pouring all over, even oil. maybe i just don't fit in this yard here

Welcome to the Scrapping World, Sadly this is happening everyday. If I may ask what is your Age And What is your Ex-Partners age It Does make a Difference. The reason I say this is Some look at the younger scrappers as not needing as much money as say a Older Scrapper.{Which is Pure B/S} Also how do you know he is getting $210 a Ton? Another thing to find out is Did your Ex-Partner Scrap before you two became partners and if He did was he scrapping with this Yard.

If anything this Situation that your in you Should Use it as a Motivational Tool to Rebuild your Business. {Kinda Like when someone Tells you You Cant Do that or It Will Never Work} YOU GO OUT THERE AND Kick A$$ and SHOW THEM. When you do this Route you need to Do it in a Professional manner what I mean is Dont go out and Be a Jerk to Customers or to The Ex-Partner. Now get out there and HUMP And Get your Business Back

tell you pick ups what you said here. Explain that he was down on his luck you tried to help him then your tranny went out an he what he did he did on his own. You where not with him an you are trustworthy.

I have people who step on my stuff all the time but they do not have the trust factor that they have with me. I have keys to companies and I have gone in there to pick up scrap or to use there tools/trailers when needed.

The part on where he is making more money per ton...he did what others (an me) did. You walk in there and ask to talk to a buyer. Tell them you want dealer pricing and that you are bring X amount of tons a week...every week an you want to see what they can do because you are looking for a yard that can "take care of you". They see how many tons you bring in...they dont want you going to a yard thats not them an so they may work with you on pricing an give you dealer pricing.

I dont think telling your customerd about your problems is a good Idea (just my thoughts) they have problems of their own to handle they dont need yours, br professional, and move on, a boxs of donuts and proffesionalism really can work miricals

Don't get into the drama, but do tell them you are not together anymore. Just say something short and sweet, like: "I'm sorry about the problems my previous partner has caused. However, things have not worked out between us, so we have gone our seperate ways. I assure you I will continue with the level of professionalism you had come to know me for." Donuts, or a little extra $$ for your purchases will help. Good luck!
