Hello scrapers!
I the video below I am showing you how I scraped two big printers (it was pretty hard but I enjoyed). I want to ask you guys how you avoid lifting and putting pressure on your backs? Maybe some of you have been in scrapping for a long time and have some experience. Any advice would be appreciated.

Lol....get big enough to pay someone to move it for you.....otherwise use proper lifting techniques such as bending at the knees not the waist......etc.....etc.....

Pull the boards and shred the rest.

Wow. I almost picked one up once and then thought better of it. As PTS says above, figure out where the boards are and just scrap the rest whole.
As far as moving them goes, can't you just drive a vehicle up to them, tilt and then lever them in? There doesn't seem to be much of a payout for stripping them down.

Of course I pulled out the boards and the cooper cables, and yea to drive the car close I thing is the best. Also to bend the knees and to lift that way! Thanks for replies!!

Like Mike said...con..err get someone else to move it for you, or use proper lifting methods. You could also use such handy tools as a dolly. There's all kinds, pick whichever you like best. Hell if it's a printer, roll the **** thing. Get a big sledge hammer, or bat, or whatever tool you prefer for bludgeoning electronics.
The above method while it does work on tube TV's, there is a lot of clean up an people get pissed off. Nobody gets mad when you destroy a printer. Hell you'll get offers from people wanting to help! Free stress relief! Or again...you could use a dolly, or something a little less violent. A good option if you enjoy boredom.
You could also remove some of the plastic, toner, etc an make it a little lighter. It really won't help, but hey...mind over matter. Ha.

wow that thing is huge office printer? what would you get out of that? copper content? carefull lifting that.
