I may have been here awhile and just trying to pass on some knowledge......I doubt this may work for you without truck or trailer so you may have to adjust to your needs........Sometimes one hospital bed may weight upwards of 6-700 LBS

hows this better?
wanted scrap metal that you want taken away:copper, brass, plumbing pipes, wires all kinds, lead batteries, electronics, air conditioners/dehumidifiers,extension cords, light fixtures, faucets, scrap metal that you want taken away. You must be either in the town of north liberty or a business in north liberty or the potato creek crossing. i have limits to how much i can take at one time cause i collect things on a hand truck on foot. if you have anything else just ask thank you.
It isn't free stuff. I do that all the time to spamposters who put their $300 rocking chairs with crap paint jobs and NASCAR collectibles for "best reasonable offer" in the free stuff. Free is free and that doesn't include services (per CL's terms, I think).
But it's mentioned before that, in a business with this much competition, it's likely another scrapper is knocking you back and will likely do so wherever you post. Is the local CL aflood with offers to collect scrap?
You may have hit saturation point.
Also, I agree with all pretty much all of the comments and I have one to add: Find one voice in the context of the post and stick to it. The opening statement of your ad implies you are performing a service. But then, you change the language to speak as though you need it more than they do. And then you change it back to describe how they can avoid inconveniencing you. I think you should pick a narrative and make that your "business voice." Always speak in that way, from that perspective. It provides trust and consistency to your customers.
New idea, contact the guy with the other ad, the military vet https://southbend.craigslist.org/wan...513575504.html and see if he needs help, maybe you could work on the weekends for him and make a little cash and then save up for a truck....
Better than the dump!
I know some people do good with the free section, but I would say ignore it and post in the wanted and labor/hauling/moving sections. Scrap ads in free usually get deleted. I also got a false call from it, that never happened until I put an ad in free.
Yes I had the same experience. For me the wanted section works by far the best. I also post in the computer services section for electronics recycling. Not too many contacts on that one, but I did get a few good regular clients from that ad too.
