    water softener

    hey just wondering if anyone does these? do you cut the red brass fittings off or leave it on with the num 2 pipes? i did cut the fittings off and parts of the pipe that was num . do you just take off the valves and take it in as num 2? i break things down to the fullest.

    Found one of these the other day: I broke it down completely since it was my first find. Had few saves, but it was a lot of work.

    As for me, they are quite expensive but worth the investment as softened water does offer some significant benefits. A water softener can improve the efficiency of hot-water and heating systems - 1.6mm of scale build-up can cause a 12% loss in heating efficiency.
