- Need advice on pvc wire separation

Hello guys,
I have a machine that separates copper from PVC insulated cables. We are having an issue separating the copper from the wires as appropriately 2 to 3 % of plastic is coming with the copper.
We have tried adjusting the machine but nothing has workes.
It would be really appreciated if you guys can guide me to what the issues might be.

If you can supply a better explaination, we may be able to help. Are you running a stripping machine or a chopping line? Are you getting plastic left in with your copper or copper left with your plastic? What type of wire are you running?Originally Posted by Yaser

Sorry for giving limited information.
1)It is a chopping machine
2)Plastic is coming with copper. The issue is for 5-10 minutes it will give me almost 100% purity and then all of a sudden huge of plastic comes towards the copper side.
3)It's basically mixed wires(combination of electric, computer, car wires.

If you don't mind, what brand system are you running?
Sounds like an issue at the separation table. I would suggest separating the wire into electrical, computer, harness wire and household cords. See if this only happens with one type. Harness wire typically has a lot of tape on it. Do you see any evidence of tape in the plastic chunks that are coming thru? I'm also wondering if the copper isn't being completely liberated from the plastic that is coming thru. if this is the case, the higher density of this compared to straight pvc could be your issue. Do you have photos of this material?
