Cool C954 Is Expensive ( Aluminum Bronze )

Just a heads up that if you ever run into any C964 alloy ( aluminum copper ), it is very expensive.
It would be worth your time to try to sell whatever you can, instead of scrapping it.

    Retail square stock is about:
    1 inch ... $40 per liner foot
    2 inch ... $120 per liner foot
    3 inch ... $240 per foot

    Retail tube is about:
    1 inch scd 10 ... $60 per liner foot
    2 inch scd 10 ... $115 per liner foot
    3 inch scd 10 ... $150 per liner foot

Tip, how does this post have any bearing on what scrap C964 alloy ( aluminium copper ) sells for. Beyond giving some retail prices on finished product we're left to find a buyer for our C964 alloy scrap.

Aluminium copper alloys are commonly used in the manufacture of outboard engines, and the sheets used to make a decent boat.

The copper content inhibits corrosion while in contact with sea water.

You want to find exotic alloys hang around the waterfront.

Aluminium Copper is also used in the Cast Aluminium lawnmower chassis, from what my scrapmetal dealer told me.
He also said he "Pays a extra 33% for them (NZ$2/kg vs NZ$1.25/kg @ the time).

He sells it directly back to the foundry that casts the Aluminium lawnmower chassis, so he was a little particular about how clean the castings were.

Also, we used to sell or machine shop turnings to a scrap buyer, since we knew what we were machining we did separate the different Bronzes (Bronze, Phosphor Bronze, Ali Bronze, Gun metal)
Its very **** important NOT to let Aluminium Bronze mix into any other Bronze. They stressed this every time they bought off us.
Its a 'one way' thing, once any Bronze is contaminated with Ali Bronze, that's all its good for, Ali Bronze.

Some of the older Lawnboy mower decks were magnesium. the early decks had 21 cast into the deck while later models used a tag to identify the mag deck
