I do drive around neighborhood on way to store or running errands..........I see a bunch of old vacuums, chairs, tables, stuff like that............Luckily my yard takes pretty much anything with metal/plastic so I pick it up and throw it in my truck

I let the sidewalls on my truck do the talking. Ive had plenty of people flag me down and say, "I seen the sides on your truck, are you looking for metal?" Ive even had people ask me when stopped at a redlight.
I only go curb shopping one time a year, the community spring clean up. The focus is non-ferrous and last year I filled up a 7 x 30 ft. gooseneck stock trailer three times with the help of the Boy Scouts. Anything not prepared on site (I have a wide variety of cordless and portable tools) is taken back to my place to be prepared during the winter. The Boy Scouts get everything we immediately haul to the yard and I get a stash to work on later. They make more money in a weekend then they do delivering telephone books. It is all cashed in under my name to get my pricing and then I deduct that amount from taxes as a cash donation.
Some might think this is crazy sharing trade secrets, but the amount of PR and referrals it produces off sets any losses from future competition. Some might think sharing this idea on the forum is crazy, but I can assure you I have learned more from SMF than I can repay.
Give back more to this world than we take.
