    Scrapping portable ac.

Hi was wondering if anyone has scraped a portable ac the kind that you have to vent with a hose? Does it differ than other ac units and is refrigerant inside? Thanks. Tried to find videos but i guess no one has doe these yet?

Are you talking about like the garage swamp cooler? Or an actual ac unit? All ac units have refrigerant and compressors. Swamp coolers do not

How do you tell if its a swamp cooler or a ac? Do they both have exhaust vents to vent outside? Anything in a swamp cooler to recycle?

There's quite a bit in the old threads about swamp coolers that should help. You can also look up the make/model on-line and get the specs

I think finding the specs would help you a lot. It will most likely give you an idea of what you are dealing with, and if there is anything to recycle.

I hope hes not talking about the portable Ammonia fridges, that you vent by using some garden hose & venting the gas into a large bucket/drum of water...

Ammonia gas is a demon in a bottle. One wiff of it & you are choking to death.
Its also used in Drug labs & will get anybody some very intiminate attention by LEO.
One fridge would cover a city block with white unmistakable cloud.
