Has anyone scrapped this type of cord?

I waswondering has anyone ever scrapped a power cord for a mobile home or trailer? Dont have a pic. Its 3 phase power i heard. Its heavy with insulation on it its got 4 or 5 wires they are stranded its got cord ends on it strip it or leave it insulated? Thoughts? It said on the jacket power cord for mobile home or recreational use. I dont remember the gauge or exact wire count.

If you cut the ends off typical 3-phase power cords you should be able to sell as-is for #2 insulated 45% recovery, with ends you'll get dinged down to 40% or 35%. As a general rule I don't recommend stripping any wire lower than 65% recovery ever and under 85% only if you have a lot of free work time that could not be spent getting more scrap to sell.

Oh ok if i manage to get it ill have more acurate information. Recovery rates im gona be getting some 4/0 and some other thermo plastic looks like maybe 1 or 2 foot segments they come out of mobile office trailers must be from the breaker box? Also gona get some romex im gona try and get the biggest stuff orange and yellow that would be 10 and 12gauge. Whats the rcovery of that stuff? Would they count the rv. Cord as num 3 cause they count extension cords as 3 when i thought they were 2. I have to strip most things because of that=(. I dont go no lower than 16 gauge witch is a extension cord. I dont do 18gauge etc. If its solid core i will do smaller though. I dont like small stranded wire cause it pokes me.

You can search the forum for wire recovery rates. Romex is number 1, 65%. You don't have to strip any wire. Unless you have a wire stripping machine you'll usually make more money spending that time sourcing more material to sell.
