No where around me is "supposed" to take them undrained.... but they do but only at shred price (and assumingly illeglly drains them)... and most places (that arent scrap yards and properly handle them) charge to take them. The one landfill by me takes them and charges $15/unit

If anyone know anywhere that pays for them AND properly disposes of them, anywhere within like.... 3 hrs of Philly.... let me know lol
    I know they do!

Thats a good deal there at .20 -.23. I think .10 is a terrible price for complete units, but shops still drop them off there. It is a small yard, almost like a ma n pop scrapyard. Good people there thow

Otherwise leave it for the township since they do it right.
That's a good one, like the local governments around here do something like that on their own. They don't don't pick anything up. Free drop off for electronics and other household "hazardous" waste but no feron items taken. I see window ac's curbo by garbage cans and the trash haulers usually leave them and after a while they "disappear". The only steel yard in this metro won't take feron items without being drained (or so they say) so I suspect most are cut and released by someone, and the copper and copper/alum come in separately from the steel in another load. Local govs are "see no evil, hear no evil" and everything is "fine"...
