Hi all! So here's a description of a couple of clients of mine that maybe you can do in your area. Professional sign makers often use CNC routing to shape or engrave signs. Apart from road signs, most of the aluminum signs are made from 6061aluminum and the routing produces 6061 Al turnings. An average shop in a city will produce a full gaylord of turnings every week along with small pieces of clean 6061 which, depending on your yard, may have a premium over MLCC aluminum. I bring an empty gaylord on a pallet with each pick-up to leave for them to fill up again, each time around 500lbs. Nobody's getting rich off a couple modest Al turnings clients but it's a nice little weekly pick-up that you should be able to duplicate near you if you are interested and have a truck and either gaylords or barrels to swap out.
