I'm new to this scrapping, but I've always been a saver and I have free time on my hands, so I over the last 2 weeks, I have torn apart a washer, dryer, and an electric stove. I have two questions:
1. The top burners and the oven burner, what are they, are they worth saving.
2. All of the little brass ends on all the wires, are they worth cutting of? all they always brass? What about the bits of copper still attached, would that make it dirty brass?

The burners from an electric stove can be stainless breakage. But i dont remove any of that, it just goes to the shred pile.
The brass ends are worth saving i would say.
If i read the last question correctly, the brass prongs with a bit of wire still attached after cutting the prong off? im not sure if they would be clean or dirty. so i keep them seperate, but still never sold any to the yard.
I know yards buy brass with copper on it but not buy copper with brass on it as copper 1 or 2. its has its own catagory

Welcome to the forum. If you want to get the most out of them, list them on Craigslist or FB marketplace because they are basically worthless as shred.. The same for the switch dials. I don't try to sell them anymore because no one called to buy them. I say, leave them on the stove so they don't becaome clutter around your home.

Burners by me can go in with the dirty stainless a little more than shred. I have to cut the ends off to get #2 insulated wire price. They can go in dirty brass for better price, or we have a copper content category but it is about the same as shred.

The ends can be brass or copper . I leave them on when selling as insulated wire. I also leave small switches or parts of switches on the wires . As long as there isn't any ferrous metal showing it hasn't been a problem. You can leave the wires attached to most things but may have to smack with a hammer to break loose the parts containing ferrous metal .

The ends would generally be stainless or brass turnings. Turnings price is lower than yellow or red brass, but if you dismantle often, it can give you a few extra bucks. The price will always be better rather than sending them in the tin heap
