    Couple of questions.

    1. A trailer came in i clean and repaire them for work from customers we lease to. It had id say 60ft of aluminum pipe im assuming cause it is thredded and i took the sections appart hard to do. It had 3 aluminum wires in it 4\0 i no thats ec wire. But is the pipe extrusion?

    2. Im going to be getting some aluminum wire 4/0 down to 8 gauge id say. Came from trailers so 5ft 5in lenghts. Maybe 300lbs insulated thats all mixed. I know the jacket is harder that copper. I did 2 4\0 pices it was 2lbs 11.6oz insulated and 2lb 0.2oz bare so insulation loss isnt to bad. Has anyone done aluminum wire?

Most likely yes. If it was part of the trailer's structural support it is likely 6061 extrusion, and not 6063. Your yard may or may not distinguish between 6063 and 6061 extrusions. If they do expect at least .10 less for 6061 extrusion, possibly much more if they don't do large 6061 volume.

I suggest to you for the 100000th time to use the forum search function for topics that have been covered several times.
