Disposal of Butane Cans

Hey all, so I'm pretty sure I got a bad can of Xikar butane fuel. I verified this by trying a different brand (long story, not the major issue). The issue is disposing of the near full can of Butane. I tried a local scrap metal place that won't take it because it's a pressurized container. I also called a local city agency that suggested I try other scrap metal places, that's not going to get me anywhere.



Any safe and responsible suggestions?

Also, I was wondering if there's a way I can bleed the canister myself and then just throw the empty canister in the recycling bin. Thanks in advance!

Domestic hazmat garbage collection. (the date or location where they pick up old half-full paint cans, batteries, swimming pool chemicals...)

So I think this in an aluminum can? If so just take a hand heald wire cutter cut a small incision in bottom of can. Be careful not to get it in your face or eyes. Afere it is no longer under pressure you can take it to a scrap yard with your dirty aluminum around here.
