How are things going Mike ?

I had a couple of identical GE brand ac's come in the other day. They were a bit more difficult to do. They had something like six or seven sheet metal screws poking out through the bottom. I whacked em' with a 10 lb sledgehammer and that worked really good on the ones i could get at easily. Some of the others were in the recesses where the hammer couldn't quite pound em' through. A 3/8" drive extension worked pretty good as a nail set worked for reaching in to the tight spots and pounding them through.

    Best of luck !

It may take awhile to get through a hundred or more but you might make a little coin with it at the end of it all. Individually ... each ac might not be worth doing because it's lower value stuff.

If you've got a bazillion of em' ... the little bits add up. It's just a lotta work.

Possibly the trailer park manager has brought an end to this project and Mike has to relocate his AC's.

Took in 160lbs of clean rads roughly 19 window ac units all different sizes so I can get a pinpoint figure ahead of time. Got 330$ with some tubes ,plugs and wires. What would be the recovery rate of the flat kind of plug that a window ac has?. My yard guy said it has to be 50% to be num 2 wire. Would it matter on recovery if the gauge is 16 or 14?. I have ten more out of 30 to do yet. I'm saving the motors and compressors for later and the loops on the cut off ends.

Nice haul on the rads & stuff. Way to go !

I checked scrap monster for the official definition of #2 ICW and it is 50% recovery.

Maybe hand strip a few pounds of ac cords to see you get for recovery.

It used to be that anything that plugged into the wall was considered #2 but it's been awhile since i sold any at the yard. Maybe they're stricter about it nowadays.

Thanks and I bet it depends on the yard and there definition of it. I really only go to this yard now cause it's 5 mins away from my work haha. I really didn't think a window ac could be 77 lbs that's nuts.

I just didn't want you to feel like they were shorting you at the yard. 50% recovery for #2 ICW seems to be the standard these days.

I suppose you gotta look on the bright side.

A 77 lb window ac is heavy to lift but then you get more $$$ out of the teardown when you're done.

True I didn't know the bottom parts of the AC were that heavy my truck guy we loaded up um 17 bottoms of windows acs got 440lbs of steel it's at 11$ for 100lbs or .11 cents a lb. I got all but 6 broke down on the first batch. I'm going to pull the loops out when I'm done with all of them haha first I'll cut off the rads take those in then sort the tubes into number one and number 2 then tear down fan motors then compressors the fan motors and compressors and loops I'll pull when I don't have anything to do haha.

It doesn't seem like there is much copper tubing by weight. Same with the elbows. Every little bit helps though. It all adds up over time.

I would figure the copper for being #2. The reason being is because it's oily inside. You might want to check with your yard before mixing it in with your other #1.

Yea hw said num 1 is num one no matter if it's tubes or wire same as num 2 the only thing I will have to separate is my bare Brite I don't get much of that now tho. If I really want to I could take the time to get the copper out of the AC power cords on the two sides and just leave the ground. I figure maybe 1 lb of loops on a ac unfortunately copper tubes don't smash down like wire does haha. I wonder has anyone ever filled a 5 gal bucket with loops? I'm going to try. I saw a guy sell the cut off ends whole they called them electric motors ouch I thought but maybe the guy didn't have time or wasn't able to pull them out. Some of the loops just practically fall out.

The so called economy is in BAD condition at this time. Maybe the government will give out some more "stimulus" money.

Even I am considered to be below the poverty level so the government gives me some free cheese here and there.

My place is full of vehicles and piles of metals and such as well as a few mobile homes. The only thing I'm taxed for is a built up driveway that I required when I bought the property 39 years ago.

It's ALL a BIG game and the better you understand the game and rules the better you come out.

I remember when the credit card thing started years ago and I could see where it was going and what it was about. So I've never had a credit card.
Have to pay a bit more for vehicle insurance as I have no credit history. But then I figure it's worth it as overall I do fine.

Never had a cell phone as I could see where that was headed also. I remember people saying that they wanted one in case of emergency. Now they can track anyone that has a mobile device. They can't track me as I move around with the wind. They could possibly track the vehicle I'm driving as it has OnStar. The Chevy Blazer just has the computer that they can control from afar, but not sure just what their capabilities are at this time.

The world is mostly a grand illusion and most get confused and lost in the illusion.

Now I know, your full of shiit.

Onstar basic will cost you $49.99 per month and it requires a mobile app for your phone. You've been caught in a lie as this monthly payment would also require a credit card.

Having Onstar installed on your vehicle would definitely lower your insurance premium as it would assist with a theft recovery.

Welcome to OnStar. Where you can get Roadside Assistance * or navigation when you need it, Emergency Services * 24/7, and a vehicle mobile app * that connects you to your car from anywhere.

The 2007 Buick Lucerne came with the OnStar package. I've never used it, BUT the equipment is in the vehicle to be activated when ever the powers that be choose. The computer in the Blazer can be shut down by the powers that be when ever they choose.

Ever look at what's inside those little white plastic bubbles that come in the boxes of electronics and DVD's and such for theft deterrents? They are just a couple of thin metal plates that can set off the alarm when you try and get by the scanners. If something as simple as that can "do it's thing", what else is possible?

It's a wired up world and the set ups are not for OUR security and peace of mind. It's the so called BIG brother that controls the illusions. Think I'm some sort of conspiracy freak with a foil hat? The information is out there if a person is interested.

It's all about the "money" and power and we are the sheeple that are expendable to those in charge. I realize that I can't change the way that things are, but I can be aware and not believe what the programming is telling us.

The CIA is everywhere and they do some underhanded things to try and achieve the end game.

WHO is in charge of the CIA? Just WHAT is the CIA? Those are the questions that have the answers.

John Kennedy was killed because the powers that be wanted Johnson in so that the war mongers could make their fortunes off Vietnam.

The top "leaders" were well aware that Japan was going to bomb Pearl Harbor. So they got the GOOD ships out and left what was expendable. The reason for this? So that the "American citizen" would be in support of going to war.

I find it interesting that the headquarters for our law system has always been headquartered in England.

I did a ac from 85 it has tinsel type rads the small rad was aluminum the big radiator was copper the aluminum one was 3lb 14oz the copper one was 9lb that was interesting also the motor on the 85s are 1/10 HP motors and have two capacitors how odd to have that motor thats big for a window ac motor right?. I have a few more of those so that's cool there just a little harder to take apart haha lots of 5/16 screws. I got a guy that's going to take the ac shells after I take the wires, compressor, motor and rads out he's going to get those out of my way .

New York Harbor since 1886, and on her base is a tablet inscribed with words penned by Emma Lazarus in 1883: Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
