My guess would be Iron, but I do remember someone on here who had an aluminum one.
You shouldnt have paid for it. Most of the time they are steel. Sometimes you get lucky and can get one thats mostly aluminum but not very often. Usualy olny a couple hundred pounds of steel though. Electric motor also for positioning. Cable into the house plus power for turning motor. If your buying it make sure you get control box as well.
I had one that was aluminum extruded main rods.
Well I didnt officially buy it, but was suppose to..:> To me it looked all aluminum. Am I wrong?
can u say magnet in this sitiation?
Magnet ftw
If its not alu how much weight in steel you figure. Looks awfull big to me.....
couple hundred pounds would be my guess. To make back your $75 it would have to be 700 pounds here in denver right now. I know it dont weight that much. It should come apart in sections though. Persoanly I think I would charge to take these down for people. My best guess would be 200 to 300 pounds tops. I could be wrong though.
I have scrapped plenty of these and the top is aluminum bottom pole is steel....worth $30 tops in scrap
When I installed them, ours were alum ribbed with alum screen and the stand pole was double wall. There will be a small LNA amplifier out on the end of the pole in the middle.

A friend of mine uses the sections of these and makes giant sculptures. I've seen a humingbird and a butterfly. I believe they are aluminum, but it not, then let the artistic side of you take over
They also make great roofs for tiki huts. The thatch or palm leaves are easy to attach to the surface.
