cordless tools

I work at a lumber yard and i had a contractor come to me today and ask me if i wanted a bunch of old cordless power tools that he had piled up in his shop. I dont know what they are worth or how to break them down if needed. any guidance would be appreciated.

I would take them at the least you would get a motor, some wire, and a board. i would think you could sell them used also if they worked.

Im pretty sure all are broke and will be without battery. I did tell him id take them im supposed to pick them up early next week.

If you do get spent batteries there's a u-tube video that tells you how to re-charge them with jumper cables.

ya im thinkin the big sledge is gonna get a workout.

You will save yourself a lot of time and mess, and possible injury if you just get the correct drill bits/torx bits and take them apart with a working drill. I have been there and you will tank me in the end if you patiently take them apart. SM

It would be worth seeing if they work in the first place. If you have a DC power supply you can try to drill / saw / whatever they are meant to do. If they work fine but the battery pack is kaput, you may be able to sell the unit. Check ebay for previous sales.

If the entire thing is kaput, there is at least a motor and some wires and switches and metal chucks, clutches, fasteners, etc... I'd certainly disassemble everything properly (not the hammer!) and you'll probably end up with a big pile of plastic shells.

If the batteries are included you'll have to dispose of them separately.

I wouldn't turn it down.
