Just curious as to some of the methods you guys use to weigh your wire before purchasing. Would a good bathroom scale work?

those are good for "guesstimating", i'd think there are lots more accurate scales available. Not sure how you buy wire or the kind of package it comes in. I got lucky in getting one in a surplus auction, that was used in a VA shipping dept. The shipping rates were changing, and instead of them getting a new "chip" that had the updated prices, they just bought a whole new scale, and I wound up with the old one, i think for about 25 dollars. It weighs up to 30 lbs in 1/10th oz increments, but goes on up to 70 lbs by 1/2 oz
I use the same digital one I bought for weighing Escrap, goes up to 70 lb I think.

truck scale!
I use the kind of scales you see in the docs. office. But, I have used and still do on occasion the bathroom scales. Just to double check the doc. scales. They will work just fine for what you are talking about here. Way better than just "guesstimating".
AMERICAN BORN, AMERICAN BRED! AND I'M PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!!!
Thanks. I'll just have to make sure the seller keeps foot off it ; )
shipping scale. weighs up to 150 #'s runs on a 9v battery and has cord sperating readout from base. Throw a barrel/trash can on their tare it and fil it
If you have a large jag of the same stuff try this...
Cut off a foot long piece and weigh it on a postal scale. Then just take your tape measure and measure how many feet you have. Multiply that by the weight of your foot long piece and you have a good estimate.
When using bathroom scales, you can get the most accurate number by weighing yourself, and then weighing yourself while holding whatever you want to weigh. Subtract your weight from the total, and voila.
I use one of these
Scale
weighs to 330 lbs, runs on a 9 volt battery easy to haul around and doesn't take up much room. No I do not know the seller, just like the scale.
