Just picked up the front end of a motorcycle. The rim appears to be aluminum, and my scrap yard won't take the tire. What is an easy way to remove the tire from the rim if I don't have a specific tool for that purpose?

You could invest in a decent grinder or sawzall and cut it off that way
There's nothing more fun and more effective than hitting something repeatedly with a sledgehammer

Short of a rim crushing machine, that's by far the easiest way. I'd recommend the sawzall over the grinder.
I use the grinder to cut the bead on each side then sawzall for the rest of the tire/steel belts.
Thanks guys--that's what I'll do!
Hey if your still having troble. Take a sawsall and cut the tire across. Make sure you break the bead. Then take a crow bar and pop the bead out. It may take 2 people or two crowbars.
God is great, scrap is good, and people are crazy
Its better to be scrapping and thinking of God than sitting in church thinking of scrapping
