Why not use a little hand torch that uses the screw on small bottles, everyone has one of them laying around.

Filthy posted a pitcher of a heat sink on page one, I have two that look like that one but the fins are ss they spark when I hit them with a grinder. Has anyone come across any like this. What would be the best way to get the fins off the copper?
Thanks olddude. I had 10 of them I had set aside thinking they were stainless bottoms with Al fins. Never got around to putting a grinder on them to check. Just checked, pretty red under a shiny exterior.

I don't know if it makes sense or not but the fins are ss. A magnet does not stick to them and sparks fly when cut with a grinder, they are heavyer than al. and they don't bend easly like al. The ones I have are not the only ones I have seen, they are not uncommen. I'm not sure what they came out of but I'm thinking they came from a server.
