i was stripping an old vcr yesterday and came across some wire that looked like copper but it was blue!!! anyone whos been reading my threads will know i am new to this game, i rubbed the wire with my knife and it seemed to look like copper but i am not 100% sure is this normal to find blue coloured copper wire? i dont want to put it in with my copper and get bottom rate for it,thanks

If you compress it, it might turn a reddish tone.
Just toss it in your copper barrell. If your yard has a problem with it, take it out and re-weigh.

Dull blue or bright? Dull blue might be corrosion. Rub the wire with fine sandpaper.

I believe that is a blue colored varnish insulation.

Here is a couple of different ones I pulled out of tv's -monitors. The problem with these were, they were aluminum.

Just the color of the wire, some blue, some red, some green, I sell it as #2 copper. Even if it's copper color it's still #2 copper becuase it's too thin to be #1
