    magnets?

When scarapping you come across alot of magnets. Should they be put in there own bin to take to the scarp
Yard? I was wondering if they are worth anything other then just throwing them in with my tin?

Some of the rare earth ones might, but most of them just go in your shred pile.

huh, I never saw magnets on either of my yard lists, I'll have to ask next time if they would pay separately. I usually save all my magnets - i've got them from hard drives and microwaves all over my tool boxes and the bed of my truck and at my dads where I do most of my work all over his garage too. I love em, not sure why but the only time i turn them in is if they break. I like to think of them as a badge of honor or something lol.

On one of mike the scrappers videos on youtube mentions $1 a pound for alnico magnets (aluminium/nickel/cobalt) These are found in speakers. You can always subscribe to him and ask him where he sells to. He is still very keen at the moment as has just become a partner on youtube so will likely answer your question.

He also has a video on how to remove them easily, I can't imagien he would bother unless he is able to sell them.

I'm going to check the yards in my area, I get a lot of speakers and just put them in with my steel. If I could just .75 cents for them it would be worth it to me. Thanks Har for posting those links.

I just finished using them to help me set up my testing/shop/office in the house(son finally moved out). I am putting up shelves and a built-in counter top work bench. Speaking of the son he stopped by and needed a stud finder and I gave him one of my HD magnets so he could hang a TV mount. Mike.
