yup its called getting ripped off.
The company name is Machine Tool Recycling. I called them guy, he asked how much I had, I said I wasnt sure. He said well its it over 10lbs. i said yes then he asked if it was over 20 i said yes but i didnt know exactly how much. So, i mailed the package in a flat rate medium box im guessing maybe 1 or 2 lbs max, so guess i had 13 to 14lbs of tape and newspaper on and in the box. when i mailed it my receipt says 36.04 lbs
I asked him if he had received my package and he said yes and i mailed you check today. So I said what was the final weight, he hesitated a few seconds and said um 20lbs yeah 20 lbs.
I don't like seeing people get ripped off but you should have known all the weights before hand.

"Give them enough so they can do something with it, but not too much that they won't do nothing."
a 200 dollar mistake you live and you learn.
I would suggest you weigh your material before you send it. Even if you use bathroom scales it will give you the general idea of how much weight you have. Personally I think a reasonable pair of digital scales soon pays for itself. In this case, they might have paid for themselves in one transaction.
It is difficult to learn the hard way, but you tend to remember the lesson next time.
I know lying is wrong, but if the elephant man came in now in a blouse with some make up on, and said, "How do I look?" Would you say, bearing in mind he's depressed and has respiratory problems, would you say, "Go and take that blusher off you mis-shapened elephant tranny?" No. You'd say, "You look nice... John""
Well, when someone tells you its not a big deal if you dont know exactly how much it was he would pay if i had more than that. On the other hand at least I know not to deal with him anymore and I would advise anyone else not to also, unless you like getting ripped off of course. Back to electronics recycling, at least i know of someone honest in that field.
A good scale keeps everyone honest.
You might also want to Google the co. name and see if anything bad comes up on the next buyer, either from the BBB or maybe from a disgruntled customer. Or maybe use Google to find a good buyer with recommendations. Most of our buyers here you can find some recommendations for them, just take the time to read some of our old threads.

What has tungsten in it?
tell em to correct it and give them a chance to do so, if they refuse, file a complaint with the bbb, at least your experience will be there to warn others from going there in the furure
electric stove burners if I am not mistaken.
Certainly not defending any bad business, but is it possible that your items might have only have an estimated yield of only 20 lbs of tungsten?
If it wasn't for the $ in $crap, it would just be.....
Its quite possible you got ripped off. I buy quite a bit of carbide and even the industrial accounts will sometimes get some tool steel or other contaminate mixed in their carbide container. At the very least the buyer should have provided you with weights and pictures of anything they claim was not carbide.
Nope just a hand written check, and yes i'm sure everybit of it was tungsten i checked each one. So now everyone knows not to use them.
