15-20 Minutes on a Yolk! I can smash one apart in maybe 2-4! You can smash the plastic off the top in like two seconds by putting the yolk on its side and hit the plastic off in like two hits. No need for needle nose's. Also, get a flat head and stick it under the small clip on either side of the yolk, and give it one good hit. It pops right off (Metal will fly, watch your eyes) and you can pull off the #1 copper/ferrite mix. No need for smashing the ring of plastic on the side, thats a waste of time. Lastly, do all your smashing on a towel of something unless you want to get ferrite dust all over your garage over time. Nice vid.

oh my goodness. I feel like I'm watching scrapping at the geriatric ward.

Suggestion: Get a 10 pound sledge, or you're gonna be late for the afternoon tapioca.

I put mine in a rice bag or a burlap bag and then smash away
