That half full water heater paid better than an empty one.
lol @ the guy in the background asking for a ride to cash in his copper. Can't count how many times someone's asked me that.
He was a walk-in (no vehicle). Most yards these days won't let you just walk in with a shopping cart or trash bags to cash in, you have to be in a vehicle.
I can't vouch for the particular reasons for this rule, I don't know if it's a new regulation or if it's just something some yards choose to do.
Ya no walk in's at this yard (cans only) I did not give him ride. My DL#, My tag#, They know me & my helper well, & i was on my way out.
It look like the Copper Ground wire off a power pole. (or a lot of poles)
In my area, Northern California, you have to
1: produce a valid driver's licence.
2: Get finger printed (only one finger, lol)
3. The vehicle registrattion # is noted.
4. At the scales, you are photographed along with a photo of each seperate bucket of non-ferrous you wish to scrap.
5. Payment is held for 3 business days. After that, they send a cheque or you can pick up the cheque, in person.

I asked about the walk-ins, found that the yards around here don't allow walk-ins as per the city's orders, not by choice of the scrap yard.

It used to be that way at one of the yards I go to here. But then Metalico bought out the yard and now half the folks there are pushing shopping carts and breaking stuff down while in line.
You know videos of the beach would go a long way to help ease some of the Seasonal Affective Disorder that those of us up north suffer from - you hear that Floridians?
It was nice to see sunshine and short sleeves in this vid.
