If you want to remove the copper from the ferrite material in the yokes, this is the easiest way, and I have tried them all.
1: put on safety glasses
2: put on gloves
3: Put on hearing protectors
4: Use a small angle grinder and cut the copper at the curve in the ferrite where the copper bows away from the
core a little bit.
Once the copper is cut, you can simply pull it off & drop it in your #2 copper bucket.
I have tried smashing then & hand cutting the wire, and believe me, once you get the procedure down pat, you will do it like a pro.
