Picked up a broken trash compactor yesterday. Fixed a door switch by taping it in palace and now it's my new mini copper bailer. Lol

That's a good idea.. thanks for posting it.
I almost bought a trash compactor at a garage sale for this purpose. Don't you need special bags for it?
Yea it does take special bags but the one I stuck in there is the glad flex force so I was able to stretch it around the corners. Next time I'll lay like a piece of fabric or maybe even fold some card board down it. Not sure the bag is going to hold up with all the copper wire poking it. I'm now not crushing my cans so I can fill it and crush those in it. Maybe I just like crushing things. lol
I had an old KichenAid compactor I used to crush cans. While it did reduce the size some, results did not seem to support the space taken or the trouble involved in the whole affair. Have your fun, then scrap the beast!
Great dude and good tips. Thanks for sharing.
you could always just use it for your insulated #2 wires. It may be more effective for that seeing as they are much lower gauge, and usually easier to stomp down.
wow, great!
Awesome! I've always thought about purchasing a trash compactor to smash down some of my scrap. Glad to see a lot of other people have thought of the same thing and at least one person actually did it!
