At first glance .... there seems to be a difference between what they're saying and what they're doing.

If you can put a name with each *ahem* "storage site" that goes a long way toward making people responsible for any messes they've created. Scott is working interstate so that could become a federal beef if he's not doing what he's supposed to be doing.

Well lets all pitch in and open up one of these. we can follow that recycling company around and make our living while cleaning up the planet.

It would seem with this being such a problem that there would be some opportunities for us in the recycling community. I've really stopped taking CRTs unless I'm getting mostly other (good) stuff included. Otherwise, I'm asking for $10 per unit (it costs me $1.00 at local center to dump the remains). So far, no takers which is fine by me. I hate dumping the ones I do get, and I suspect the day is rapidly approaching where they will start refusing them altogether.

The last time I checked in with anyone up the line on these, it required dealing in semi truckloads. I wonder if it would be possible to charge for disposal and have a trailer set up somewhere more or less central to scrappers / recyclers in a given area and ship that way. Regardless, this is a major problem.
