Even without children, i wouldn't, but that is me lol.
The most poisonous spider is a long legged granddady, which I found supper funny. However, they say that their teeth are small they cannot penetrate skin, therefore no one believes them to have been a threat.
The most dangerous one around here right now, is a brown recluse (or however you might spell that). I have seen pictures and videos of the damage it can do, and it is NOT pretty!
Great Vid!
I have no headphones/speakers where I'm online, but I'll check later.
Can't believe you wear no gloves for all the glass and sharp "motherboard" parts.
A few weeks ago: I saw a TV on top of some cardboard in a construction dumpster.
I had just scrapped the internals from three for low price...thought about leaving it, then "well I'll just get it as quick as possible"...climbed up, beat the plastic back with a hammer (about TEN TIMES FASTER than unscrewing the stuff in your vid)
cut the cord, Knocked off the ring , grabbed the black cable, yanked it, swipped tip of my middle finger across MORE than razor sharp glass on back of tube...Looked down, blood gushing, grabbed a rag.
(Used to wearing leathe rgloves but like stated was "hurrying" due to low prices).
Wrapped it with duct-tape (normal "Bandage" stuff).
Blood started leaking through the seams. ...Stopped, took off the tape.
Re-Wrapped it with paper towel and a duct-tape carcophagus (sp.?)...kept bleeding out through the tape...
Pulled into "urgent-care" ...thinking," D*MN Now I'll get shots, stiches, brace and HOW THE HECK WILL I WORK with no right hand usage???URGGGHHH!!!!" ...then it quit bleeding out .
So I went to the $1 dollar store and bought some superglue!!! (Haha Seriously)...
Pasted some on, pressed it together, BINGO!
Each morning I put a little more , and some neosporin.
Healed GREAT! and not much scar either!!!
Anyway, a while back (like 20 years ago) a guy in an electronics class warned everyone about TV's having like a 40-50K V capacitor in the back (????) I've yet to see one(?) (really wondering though)
Well TV's are a good topic, scrap item since so many are switching to flatscrrens and it seems junk TV's are everywhere.
Thanks!

The CRT itself is the capacitor, please take care and discharge it. Sorry to beat a dead Hoss but here it is again... http://www.scrapmetalforum.com/showt...highlight=hoss
any one else have reservations about breaking the glass because of the cadmium they spray inside the glass to coat the surface on those old CRT TV's? I don't crack the tube for that reason

I have wondered about that too... Kenny says he is more concerned about falling on the tv tube so he breaks them off. Risk versus risk.... Kinda like scrapping light bulbs with the risk of mercury, right? Then again I'm still learning and love comments like these because that is how I learn.
