Cool Scrapping a Modern & Vintage Ceiling Fan - Video by Kenny Chumsky

Here is the Video of a Modern Ceiling Fan:

Here is the Vintage Ceiling Fan:

Just so everyone know! We DO collect Steel Now (Thanks to our wonderful scrapping friends educating us) and if we call a transformer a motor it is because we pretty much call all our items in the category the junk yard takes it. CBM (Copper Bearing Motor)

If you have never scrapped a fan I hope our videos are useful to you!

    Thanks,

    Elena

Its a helluve quicker and easier on the hands after a bit just to grab the angle grinder with the cut off disk. Either hold the stator in your hand or clamp in a vice. Then run the grinder through the lopps. Throw them in the bucket. Then either punch out the rest with a screwdriver, hammer, or just flip around and pull with dykes or pry out with screwdriver.

I definitely agree!!! We actually do have a hand grinder, but were out of blades when we made the vids. Thanks for the advice... I'm sure it will help a few people!!

Believe it or not. Cheapest place I found for cut off disk is advance auto parts. Certain stores carry bosh cut of wheels for the 4 1/2 grinder. They are a 1.89 for the blade. They are made by bosh. That beats harbor freight 5 pack for 10.00 bucks..lol.

I will remember that for the future...didn't think advance auto would have cut off wheels for the angle grinder though lol.

My first batch will be coming from Harbor Freight as they also send out coupons, and one I have, you can buy 10 in a pack for $6.

on the cutoff wheels ebay has them

    100 metabo 4.5" $120
    100 dewalt 4.5" $100
    100 norton 4.5" $90
    100 off brand 4.5" $60

reguardless of which brand you choose its alot cheaper than $2 each, and you can always split the lot up between a few people

personally i like the 6" because they cut deeper and last alot longer
