I personally had a lot of fun making this. Usually Kenny gets to go to the junk yard so when I get to go its exciting!! Let me know how our junk yard compare to yours....

Our scrap yard actually has been really good lately about keeping the pile down. However, before that, looked just like yours!

You can chuck metal with the best of them. And to think a few months ago you didnt deal in shred
what do you do with the brass?
I think they sell the stuff on ebay.
I know her and Kenny bought a brass musical instrument one time and sold it for over $400 on ebay.
It was awesome!
I sell it on Ebay =) I love brass because the most I can lose is $1.00 per pound =) Though, I should at least triple my money....
Great video of action at the scrap yard. I can't get enough of those big swinging magnets.
I enjoyed your comments regarding Brass arbitrage. When someone asks what you do, you're in essence, a Brass Broker. Better yet, you're the owner of an Independent Brokerage Firm specializing in Zinc and Copper Alloys.
Framing the message and the image makes this old world go around.

Great video! Thanks for sharing the details of buying and reselling. Very nice advertisement/ebay pictures too.
There is so much here that interests me:
1) the research -- knowing what you've got who's most likely to collect/use it.
2) the marketing -- picking the right buzz words for product description and capturing the perfect eye-catching photo

3) business savvy regarding acceptable risk -- knowing when to accumulate inventory and when to clear it. (and how much time to dedicate to each task)
An entire Macy's, compressed, and then compressed some more -- into a family operation. Exciting and empowering -- the best of the web .

1. I do not always research I just put up with a starting bid that allows me to get a return of 200% on my money. $4.99 for every 1/2 pound. Usually sell 15% to 30% every time I list. Then I only relist with FREE relists promotions.
2. I say it was inspected by a professional and emphasize that they are getting solid brass/bronze/copper, etc.... (Not plated, also no one get more professional then a junk yard)
3. If it breaks or you can't sell it after a year - just resell to the junk yard. If prices go up you might not even lose to much. But if prices stay the same you lose $1.00 to $1.50 for every pound.
As far as time, it took me a day to get the items and take pictures... (8 hours) then it took another day to list them all. (8 hours) When they sell it will probably all add up to a day or two....
Hope this helps!
Thanks for the additional details.
