Yes you make a great point here, I wasnt really specific. Absolutely you cannot put 50 lbs of motherboards in a flat rate box. I was referring to just a good ol fashioned box with a variety of PC parts in it. Ive taken apart about 7 Pcs now, and have hopefully 10-12 more on the way pending a phone call this afternoon, so Im trying to cash in and get a little extra cash. Im just a hobbyist working out of my home, with one spare bedroom for storage.
I dont even have any outbuildings, and a gaylord is a bit big for my tastes and my space. Something tells me the first time I roll a pallet jack across the living room carpet, it wont be well received.
Just trying to see whats best. Just for example power supplys. I can ship them and maybe net 1 or 2 cents per pound after shipping, or I can probably take them to my local place and get slightly above shred price for them. 11-16 cents is better than 2, and thats what Im trying to figure out here.
Obviously the high dollar items: motherboards, RAM, CPUs, finger cards, drive boards, etc are worth it to ship.
I appreciate all the replies so far. Im not looking to fill up a semi, just an old box from work that used to contain fountain cups
