    Scrappers Dream: Fire Sale

The Scrappers Dream project is winding down. We were given a year for salvage and should be completed in seven months. For those of you who followed the thread, you know we purchased over twenty sets of torches and regulators. I can sell these on Craig's List, to local scrap yards, or even contractors. This includes the top of the line Smith Professional Gauges, Gas Axe Torches, and Petrogen Torches. Therefore I am offering them to members of the forum first.

    Smith Torches - Average use 75 hours. New price for SC 949 (4') is $ 499, SC 929 (2') is $ 350, and the 3' is $ 450.
Smith Regulators - Average use 75 hours. New price for Oxy. (40-75-540) is $ 189 and for gas (40-50-510) is $ 189.
SMF Price 50% of new price plus shipping.

    Petrogen - Average use 10 hours. Hose - $ 456 Petrogen Tank with regulator $ 850 and Torches $ 665, $ 700, and $ 875.
SMF Price 75 % new price.

The equipment has served its purpose for me and I do not need 20 sets on the ranch. My reputation on the forum is your guarantee of satisfaction. If interested P.M. me.

Good point. I will try to post pictures ASAP. The point is I am not going to make a cent from this. They are owned by the corporation. This is a big gamble for me, my reputation on the forum is on the line. The goal is to help others that share my choice of lifestyles. Another fact that will interest members, a local scrap yard offered to buy everything for this deal and were told I had friends that would get first chance. If you do not see this as a great investment, please do not respond. If this could help you expand your business, let me know.

Got a P.M. that raised some questions. All torches and regulators can be used for Acetylene or Propane. The difference is the tips you use. You cannot weld with propane based on my knowledge. If you are a recreational user of a torch, you would be better off getting a cheaper torch and regulator setup. If you want something to last a lifetime, this might be a great investment. My business plan can justify and requires this type of investment. You need to decide if this is in your best interest.

I still have some torches left. I held back some to finish some mop up duties this spring. What length are you interested in and it is assumed you would be looking at a 90 degree head. I do have one 180 degree head in a four foot model. This summer a 16 ft. torch with a 180 degree head will be available. It was custom made just for this project so interest might be limited. PM me if you are interested. They are still in Omaha, so no postage.

I'd be interested in the smallest one you got for cutting stuff, and the cheapest. How do you recommend transporting one of those, and does law require anything special? I'd be using it mobile more than anything. Thanks
